and dig deep and pull out a real deep-cut from the archives for the revival of the Air Ship. The original "banned" shoe, for which the often incorrectly gets attributed – the Air Ship was the first Nike sneaker Michael Jordan hooped in. After almost 40 years, the shoe which improved on the in every way is honoured and acknowledged with a retro.
On release in 1984, the Air Ship was Nike's most advanced basketball sneaker. Created as a better-performing evolution of the Air Force 1, the Air Ship featured a lower-profile midsole with pillar cushioning and a revised Air bag in the heel. The outsole featured flex grooves for better articulation and the uppers were lighter and more flexible.
Seen here in classic collegiate colours and a full leather upper, the Air Ship is back like you just ordered it out of the Marshall's catalogue in '84.
